We had some really odd behavior because the old server was authorized at 127.0.0.1 in the Active Directory and therefore blocking authorization on the new server. Sep 22, 2009 · Here is what I found in my case. There were multiple entries in active directory for the same DHCP server. By removing the duplicate entries directly I was able to get my DHCP server to verify it was indeed authorized and to launch DHCP and start giving out IP addresses again. Tool used for this is adsiedit.msc
